Professor David Garway-Heath (PI)

David (Ted) Garway-Heath is International Glaucoma Association Professor for Glaucoma and Allied Studies at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London, and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Prof. Garway-Heath leads research in Visual Assessment and Imaging at the Biomedical Research Centre for Ophthalmology of the UK National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). 

Research by David Garway-Heath has provided many new tools including the Moorfields Motion Displacement Test; The Moorfields Regression Analysis and the Garway-Heath Map. In addition, his work on the UK Glaucoma Treatment Study showed that it was possible to reduce considerably the period needed to identify treatment effects. Currently President of the European Glaucoma Society (EGS), Vice President of the international Imaging and Perimetry Society, Chair of the Membership Committee of the international Glaucoma Research Society and Secretary to the Imaging Morphometry Association for Glaucoma in Europe. He has obtained funding for research of more than £7 million over the last five years and he is author of nearly 200 scientific research papers. 

Soledad Aguilar-Munoa

Soledad Aguilar Munoa is an Ophthalmologist working as a Glaucoma Research Fellow in Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK. She completed her medical studies in Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2013 and her Ophthalmology training in Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, in May 2018. She has a special interest in glaucoma and her research focuses on ocular biomechanics, optic disc haemorrhages and macular structure-function.
